Daily Themes : Depth of Field…
Good morning everyone. It’s a beautiful Sunday morning and I’ve finally found time to sit down and update the blog. The last week or so I’ve been really busy, if I was to try and tell you everything in one go this post would be horribly long. So I’m going to start with some daily themes from Google+.
A little while ago I was approached by the wonderful Helena Martins and asked if I’d be interested in helping to curate a daily photo theme on Google+ with herself and Lynda Bowyer.. My answer was a resounding yes and soon it was all decided. Three themes were chosen and each of us would take point on one of them. I took Monday with the theme of Depth of Field #DOFMonday.
I love Depth of Field images and so it made perfect sense for me to do this. It also gives me an excuse to play with my 50mm prime, not that I need an excuse.
I adore the way this technique can make your subject pop from the background. This is the shot I chose as the avatar for the page. I love sunflowers but I can’t grow them for toffee.
This following shot is of a row of old hourglasses and it’ll be the one I share for the theme on Google+ tomorrow. I could have spent hours photographing these intriguing objects but unfortunately I only had a few minutes.
Have a great week and if you’re on Google+ check out the #DOFMonday theme tomorrow… (Hmmmm and I might try and sneak another DOF shot in tomorrow hehe…)
